Suman Hedge

The Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale is complete for another year and proved a successful event for our company Suman Hedge Bloodstock.

Our association buying for the Victorian Alliance with Rosemont Stud and specifically Ryan McEvoy and David Redvers led to 6 purchases and a spend of 3.6 million on a lovely group of yearling colts.

Our pinhooking group, Myrrh Australia sold 4 yearlings (weanling spend $680,000) for a sale return of $1,925,000 with our partners Silverdale Farm and Milburn Creek and provided a very healthy return on investment.

SHB also purchased 5 nice yearlings with trainers Mick Price, Ciaron Maher Racing, Freedman Racing and Gerald Ryan which we are super excited about and very much look forward to racing in the future.

We could not have achieved any of this without the leadership and management of Barry Bowditch and his team at Magic Millions who did a super job navigating the unprecedented pandemic. Also thanks to Cassandra Simmons who as always did a Herculean job in looking after everyone and keeping everyone happy.

Personally I would like to thank Ryan McEvoy for giving me the opportunity to work on an incredible project and Leroy Brennan who was super to work in with and all the Rosemont crew led by Owner Nigel Austin and Principle Anthony Mithen.

From my team at Myrrh we would really like to acknowledge the hard work and excellence of Robert Petith and Scott Holcombe and their respective staff at Silverdale and Milburn Creek. They had our horses looking a million dollars and deserve much of the credit for the outstanding results achieved.

Another year over and I think a real turning point for the company, looking forward to returning again for the National Sale!
